In 1985, a flawless masterpiece, untouched by the passage of time. A caribou shed was unearthed, resting just 100 feet behind the The Lodge of Caribou Bay Retreat. This ancient treasure, believed to be a majestic 12,500 years old, is one of the finest preserved finds in Wisconsin, proudly displayed in a glass case within the retreat’s Great Room, a testament to the passage of time and nature’s wonders. Nestled on the terminal moraine of the Ice Age Trail, Caribou Bay is steeped in history and beauty.

During your stay, embark on an adventure along the Wedde Creek and Mecan River segments of the Ice Age Trail, where every step tells a story. Whether rain or shine, indulge in the soothing embrace of the retreat’s inviting hot tub and picturesque four-season room. Gather around a crackling campfire at the Outdoor Entertainment Center located by The Event Center.
