Frequenty Asked Questions from our Guests

Where is Caribou Bay Retreat located?

Caribou Bay Retreat is located in Coloma, Wisconsin (Central Wisconsin). For the smoothest arrival, we recommend using Google Maps. Please allow a little extra time for country roads and walking paths to the ceremony site.

What time should guests arrive?

To keep the day flowing beautifully, we recommend arriving 30–45 minutes before the ceremony, and being seated 10 minutes prior to ceremony start time.

Is there parking on-site?

Yes — complimentary on-site guest parking is available.
Please note: No parking is allowed down the driveway. Kindly follow posted signage and any venue staff directions.

If I need help getting to the chapel, what should I do?

If you need assistance getting to the chapel, please reach out to the bride for additional details.

What should I wear?

Caribou Bay is an indoor + outdoor venue with a natural setting (grass/gravel in some areas). We recommend flats, wedges, block heels, or dress boots for comfort. Wisconsin evenings can cool down quickly—bringing a light wrap or jacket is always a lovely idea.

What happens if it rains?

Caribou Bay weddings are beautiful in every season—and we celebrate rain or shine. If weather moves in, the couple may choose to move the ceremony indoors or pause briefly and wait for the rain to pass.
We recommend guests bring a small umbrella, just in case, for comfort when walking between locations.

Where are restrooms located?

Restrooms are available on-site in the Event Center. Signs and staff will help guide you.

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Many couples request an unplugged ceremony so everyone can be fully present for the moment. Please follow the couple’s wishes regarding phones and photos. Professional photographers will capture the ceremony beautifully.

Are children welcome?

Children are welcome unless the couple has requested an adults-only celebration. Because Caribou Bay is a scenic natural property, we kindly ask that children be supervised at all times, especially near wooded areas, firepits, and the lake.

Is smoking allowed on-site?

Yes — smoking is permitted only in designated smoking areas. We kindly ask guests to respect all posted signage and to smoke only in approved locations for the comfort and safety of all guests.

Who can I ask if I have questions the day of the wedding?

Venue staff will be available throughout the celebration. If you have any questions or need assistance, please ask a team member—we’re happy to help.
